About Me

Howdy folks! Just a little information about myself, not too much, just enough to keep you coming back! At present I’m retired and loving it. I wanted to do
something with wood, so I started making mantles and window sills for neighbors. I made Gun Carts for some of the folks I shoot with. Then I wanted something where I could get my Grand-Kids involved with using their hands and brains to make a little spending money. The Grand-Kids range from 15 to 3 (5 at last count) and the idea of making signs was born.  I mentioned being retired. I worked for American Airlines for 35 years (that’s a long time) both in San Francisco (23 years) and then in Alliance, Texas, at the maintenance base for 12 years. On September 11th the world changed, my wife of 43 years got that funny feeling and said lets retire.

Well, not being one to argue with the wife, I just said “Yes Dear” and we retired the following week. We moved to Bakersfield to be close our Daughter (my partner) and Grand-kids. My Son & I raced in the NJBA and IHBA 1988-1990, built 65 thru 69 Mustangs, painting them, and building motors. The 69 belonged to my son and ended up in a couple of magazines and got best of show in Sacramento, Ca. You could say we had a busy time as we grew up! Shooting, ah yes. I’ve been shooting since my mom bought me my first gun at 11. I trained with a neighbor who was with the FBI, I was 11 or 12 then. My interest in SASS began when I was in Texas, so I just followed the desire when I got to Bakersfield. I shoot at 5 Dogs Creek here and at Chorro Valley Regulators in Morro Bay, Ca.

My personal saying and something I live by is You only go around once in life so you better make every shot count!
